The big project "Symphonic Premieres" is a monumental musical canvas of Ukrainian classics, which you have not heard before! Works by composers worthy of a place in the world treasury of classical music, which were not performed due to historical vicissitudes and lack of information. Today we are finally discovering the beauty of Ukrainian music of great forms. Special project of the public organization Collegium with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. Three symphony concerts: November 29, December 11 and 23 in the Lviv Organ Hall.

The second concert of the series, which will take place on December 11, is marked by the world premiere of the work of the first Ukrainian composer Stefania Turkevych - "Hands". The ballet "Hands" or "The Girl with the Withered Hands" was written by Stefania Turkevich in 1957, in Bristol, while in exile. The first professional composer in Ukraine, the first woman from Galicia to defend her doctoral dissertation in musicology. Bold modernist, author of numerous symphonic, chamber, choral works, ballets, children's operas. Her first work was performed in Lviv when she was 21. Stefania Turkevych wrote for the rest of her life, but in Soviet times her music was banned.

The program also includes a concerto for violin and orchestra in A major by Stanislav Lyudkevych. the organ hall has already acquainted Lviv residents with this unsurpassed example of late romance at a concert-lecture in November. Then the work was performed by violinist Adrian Bodnar with piano accompaniment. Today it will be performed by a symphony orchestra, as intended by its author.
